Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued Announcement No. 3 of 2026, approving and issuing 453 industry standards. Among them is QB/T 5296-2026 Wiping Tissues, which replaces the previous version QB/T 5296-2018 and will come into force on September 1, 2026.
The revision of the Wiping Tissues industry standard further clarifies product classification and application scope, optimizes and improves a number of key technical indicators, and adds new chemical safety requirements for wiping tissues used for tableware and kitchen utensils.
The issuance and implementation of this standard are of great significance for reducing product use risks, improving the overall quality of the industry, and protecting the health and safety of consumers.
It provides clear guidance and stricter specifications for manufacturers of wet wipes, disposable wet wipes, cleaning wipes, kitchen wipes, household wipes, multi-purpose wipes and other disposable cleaning products. For wet wipes manufacturers, private label brands, OEM/ODM suppliers, wholesale distributors and global importers, complying with the new standard will become an important competitive advantage in the international market.
